Both qualitative and quantitative methods of empirical social research play an important role in the extraction of theories and in their proof. This module presents various methods and their application using statistical software.

- Knowledge Broadening
The students know different methods of empirical social research and can apply them to answer research questions. They have statistical knowledge in order to evaluate and interpret the results using software.

The students know the various methods and their differences in detail, can select and apply the appropriate method.

Students will be able to evaluate the results of the analyses in light of the underlying research question.

Students are able to create questionnaires and collect data. They can operationalize these and evaluate them using software.

Students are able to systematically address research questions using methods of empirical social research. They are able to contribute to answering these research questions.
