Prof. Dr. Rüdiger Anlauf

  • born in 1956
  • Diploma in Agronomy, G?ttingen University, main topics Soil Science and Plant Production in the Tropics
  • 4-months internship at a farm in Israel, 5-months internship at a farm in Norway and 6-months practical training in an agricultural rehabilitation project for leprosy sufferers in Northern Thailand
  • Research assistant at Department of Soil Science, Hannover University, working on the reclamation of salt-affected soils and on computer simulation of nutrient and pollutant transport in soils
  • two 5-months research visits at Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar, Haryana, India
  • 1987 Ph.D. (Soil Science in Horticulture) at Hannover University with a thesis on "Modeling the Reclamation of Salt-affected Soils Considering Spatial Variability"
  • 1990 to 1997: working for the Hannover Public Waterworks in the fields of Hydrology and Groundwater protection: - Establishment of an groundwater quality advisory scheme for agriculture and horticulture in a water protection area of 15.000 ha arable land - Development of a water catchment management system using a Geographical Information System to store and evaluate all relevant data on soil, geology, hydrology and land holdings - Applications for water rights and water protection zones

  • retired since October 2021; continue to carry out research projects and supervise theses
