- Kurzbeschreibung
"Leadership and social influence" as well as self-management, such as active learning, resilience, stress tolerance and flexibility, belong to the top future skills according tho the World Economic Forum (2020).
This module encourages students to reflect their own attitudes, mindset and behaviour to reach own goals (self regulation) und their roles in diverse, international teams.

The module consists of two parts
I. Team-building in international teams
1. Principles of teams, teamwork and group dynamics
1.1 Group, team and organizations
1.2 Causal factors and indicators of team competence
1.3 Team roles and team standards
2. Team competence: shaping roles and relationships for effective teamwork
2.1 Stages of team building
2.2 Communication, problem-solving and decision-making
2.3 Team-building measures
2.4 Team reflexivity
The "Team-Building" part module can be replaced by an "excursion".
II. Leadership:
1. Personal Mastery: Self leadership and self efficacy
1.1 The Leader’s Own Mindset: Emotions and Beliefs
1.2 Culture and Socialisations as framework
1.3 Changing attitudes and the behavioural repertoire for professional leadership of oneself and others
2. Role and task of executives in international organizations
1.1 Reflecting one’s own experiences and leadership expectations (being led)
1.2 Understanding leadership as an executive (leading)
1.3 Challenges in diverse teams - reflecting cultural and institutional background of team members
2. Appraisal interviews
2.1 Setting targets and preparing interviews
2.2 Moderation

Portfolio Exam 1: Referat (70 points) and oral presentation (30 points)
Portfolio Exam 2: Term paper (50 points) and written exam (one hour, 50 points)

Written examination: in accordance with the valid study regulations
Assignment: Around 2500-3000 Words; oral presentation around 10-20 minutes.
Term paper: Around 2000-2300 Words.
The requirements are specified in the relevant class.

Fundamental principles of employee leadership, communication and HRM (BA)
- Wissensverbreiterung
The students learn by practical exercises to reflect their expectations with regard to leadership in international teams and organisations. They are able to define and reflect their own role as member of a team and as executive manager.
Methodological resources, instruments and interventions for the leading of oneself as well as employees and teams/groups shall be used effectively.
- Wissensvertiefung
Students understand the principles of self-organization/self mastery. They know theories and practical interventions of leadership. They are able to differentiate team stages and roles in teams. They understand the specific challenges in international teams and different leadership settings, e.g. virtual leadership.
- Nutzung und Transfer
Students understand typical leadership challenges in international teams and are able to analyse the situation and come to adequate decisions. The integrate different perspectives and cultural backgrounds in their doing.
- Wissenschaftliche Innovation
This course focusses on personality development. Scientific research is used for understanding own actions and thinking.
- Kommunikation und Kooperation
Students understand own effect on others and are able to communicate in a empathic and goal-oriented way. They are preparing talks and meetings and talk clearly and directly. They are capable of active listening and ask clarifying questions and pay attention to other people's nonverbal signals.
Students understand their role in a team and are willing to do their share of the work in a team to accomplish group objectives.

Students understand ethical implications own responsibilities of decisions and actions. They reflect their own values and can understand why people in a diverse team come to different approaches.
