Kurzbeschreibung

Polymer coatings and adhesive joints are widely used in technical products. Their design and implementation afford a deeper understanding of surface chemistry. This module foresees the transmission of fundamentals of adhesives, surface properties and modification techniques with the purpose of providing students with enough knowledge for the design of adhesive joints.

Lehrinhalte
  1. Classification of adhesive bonding as join technology - advantages and disadvantages of adhesive bonding
  2. Application of adhesive bonding
  3. Surface properties of materials and binding strengths - adhesion and cohesion
  4. Classification of adhesives
  5. Chemistry, physics and applications of everyday and technical adhesives
  6. Polymer coatings
  7. Surface modification techniques
  8. Theoretical desing of adhesive bonding
